Chinese Face Reading on Robin Williams
Actor and comedian Robin McLaurin Williams, born on July 21, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, was known for his fast-paced improvisational performance style. He played numerous memorable film roles, both comedic and dramatic, with one of his roles winning him an Academy Award. On August 11, 2014, the actor was found dead in his home at the age of 63, committing suicide by asphyxiation.
Robin's face shape overall presents more as a yang type, with small round eyes, square shaped head, wide nose, thick eyebrows, well-defined ears, and a slight reddening of the face. The forehead, however, is slightly wider than the jaw. Reading these features one could see how Robin may be active in nature, but very intellectual, imaginative and amazing in abstract thinking. Robin's small round and straight-angled eyes show us how well he excels in the arts and has both ambition and sensitivity towards others. Many may not know that, without prior experience, he learned to play a sax solo in a month for a role in the late 1980's and also worked passionately using his humor to help the homeless (Comic Relief Charity on HBO) and troops overseas (USO shows).
Considering the focus on Robin's face being the middle section, one can see there is much activity between the Heart and Liver. Although Robin’s large nose with large and wide nostrils and a slight cleft on the tip point to a good potential for success, he does show potential for a heart condition. In Robin's past, he had suffered from an aortic valve disease which caused him to have an irregular heartbeat. Robin should have been more careful in his health as one can see two deep lines between his eyebrows that suggest issues with Liver function, although the thickness of the brows point to steady health throughout his life. Many people are aware of his addiction to alcohol and cocaine and looking at the appearance of his thin lips, it's no wonder that he seems to take in substances more yang in nature.
Robin has been such an amazing and energetic person, but he also struggled with anxiety and depression. While much of his facial features showed signs of a strong constitution, stable personality and potential for long life -- seen in the large size of his ears and thick rim of his outer ear -- the cleft in the nose, a line across his earlobe and a shallow oval-shaped philtrum, show how the poor health choices he made contributed to many of his health issues especially in matters of the Heart and Shen. One can't say he didn't try to be better -- he abstained from substances for 20 years and took on cycling for exercise (the light lines closest to the nose bridge above each eyebrow showing is hard work and making progress)-- but towards the end of his life, he relapsed 2006 and closer to 2014, his mind got the best of him. At the age of 63, he took his own life; which may have been related to his Lewy body dementia, a disease known to lead to problems with thinking, movement, behavior, and mood. Everyone was stunned and sorrowful by his death as he was a beloved celebrity among us (we can see his great ability to interact well with a variety of people from the thick wide rim of his ears).
Overall, Robin Williams was a beautiful mix of yin and yang elements seen through not only his face, but through his intellect, artistic talent, humor, ambition and sensitivity. By studying his face, I have gained a deeper insight to the brilliant and tragic contents of his life that I wouldn't have thought about by just watching his movies.
